Romania - Bucharest (Final Part)

Last day in Bucharest, visited all the places I wanted to see already so I just randomly walked around the place and take random shots before heading to Belgrade in Serbia.

Woke up real late and then went back to the beer house I went the previous night cause the food is really nice and I love the interior.

Romania - Out of Bucharest (Part 2)

Tired of the Bangkok like city so I went on a 12 hour tour that was organised by the hostel and went to places outside of Bucharest like Sinaia, Brasov and Bran (Drucula Castle). The guide who was the owner of hostel was not too bad but more explanation could be done. We left the hostel around 9:30am and we headed to Sinaia which was about 2 hours drive away from Bucharest.

Too bad you have to pay to take photos inside the palace so...NO PHOTOS of the interior. Sorry~

Inside there are like tons of weapons displayed on the walls of the room ranging from European to Asian. There is also a theater that can house 60 people...

After visiting the interior, I was told by the guide that there is a smaller palace nearby cause another queen hated the 1st King and build another so she need not stay in palace where the 1st King resides.

The smaller Palace nothing much to shout about...

So after exploring Sinaia, off we go to Brasov which I heard from Nela (my Romanian friend) that is much better then Bucharest.

So we arrived in Brasov after a 1hour drive

Nothing much to brag about the castle was quite a disappointment as you can see from this comment

Our guide recommend us this place for dinner and off we went. The interior of this beer house is awesome together with the food and beer.  =)

Romania - Bucharest (Part 1)

After a 12 hour train ride with slow and troublesome custom boarder checks, I have arrived in ROMANIA!!!
Train Station
Photobucket
I arrived at the Gara de Nord train station at around 6am in the morning and was staving. I went around searching for food around the train station and to my amazement, the people here drink beer at 6AM!!! It was the first culture shock and I thought Ireland was bad. You guys should totally check out Eastern Europe in the future, anyway I decided to have KFC for breakfast as it the only place serving breakfast menu, even the famous McDonalds doesn't even have a breakfast menu. BOO~

After having breakfast, we were like LOST again, cause we printed out directions from the old website of the hostel and we went to the old location of the hostel, luckily we made it to the new location and we were so tired from the train ride that we took some hours to rest in our room.

We got out for lunch at La Mama which was recommended by the hostel.

Our Food
Tripe soup (top) Mixed grill (middle) kind of lasagna but extremely salty (bottom)

After lunch we roam around the city and the place looked like Thailand, Bangkok to me. The buildings looked so old without paint and also there were mixture of new buildings with the old ones.

After a few hours walk in the city, I went back to the hostel to crash cause of the hot weather (it was near 30 degrees and I was melting) and the lack of sleep in the train due to the interruption that we got from the custom checks.
So what you think??? Doesn't it remind you of BANGKOK???
