October 2009 - Land of the Catalans (Part 3)
This the last day of my stay in Barcelona and I went to this place called Montjuïc. I have to sit the subway from the city to this place, Montjuïc is place slightly out of the main city and from this top of the park/hill you can have a spectacular view of the whole of Barcelona.Upon reaching the place, I sat the Telefèric de Montjuïc (basically the cable car) and from there I already had a very good view of Barcelona.
Upon reaching the top, which is this place called the Castell de Montjuïc, it is basically a castle that was previously used by the Catalan King.
Some shots inside the castle
This shows the famous Barcelona Habour
Going into the Castle Main Square where the King's army used to have their parades
So having visited the castle and I went down the hill and to the other side of the place where in 1992 Barcelona hosted the Olympics and the Games were.
The stadium inside
Other places in that area which I've forgotten the names (sorry guys cause I'm doing a backlog here)
Finally I arrived another famous place or rather a place to check out, Plaça d'Espanya where there is this music fountain that they showed at night however, I wasn't able to catch it as I had a Barcelona FC match to catch :(
So after dinner, I went back to Camp Nou and the atmosphere was amazing and this is my first European soccer match my last was when Manchester United came to Singapore to do their Asian tour. There are like stores outside the stadium selling all kinds of stuff for the supporters to buy.
Outside the Stadium
On my way inside to my seat :) *excited*
Players coming out for their warm ups
The atmosphere before the match
Ibrahimovic's goal from the freekick
I was like watching this match and forgotten to take some photos but anyway the final score...
Totally made my money worth with the goal fest, and I ended my first trip out of Ireland.
What you guys think of Barcelona now when you have seen some of the stuff I posted? I will be stopping my backlog for awhile and will be blogging everyday (if possible) about my Eastern Europe tour that I am currently doing now. So stay tune :)
